Tropical Blue Spirulina Smoothie

Start your day with this stunning, nutrient dense smoothie full of antioxidants, healthy fats and superfoods!


This is such a fun smoothie to make! Bright and colorful using the star ingredient, blue spirulina. The brand I used is called KOS: Organic Luminous Blue Spirulina that I bought at Whole Foods Market. A little goes a long way!


Blue Spirulina not only adds beautiful color, but has amazing health benefits. It acts as a powerful antioxidant with anti-inflammatory properties that help promote healthy gut bacteria, heavy metal detox and has even been shown to prevent the growth of certain cancers. Add it in smoothies, juices, yogurt and baked goods to help keep your immune system in check!



Blue Spirulina Smoothie

TROPICAL BLUE SPIRULINA SMOOTHIE

Prep Time: 5 minutes Servings: 1


INGREDIENTS

  • 1/2 banana

  • 1/4 avocado

  • 1/4 cup pineapple chunks

  • 2 tbsp coconut butter

  • 1 tbsp almond butter

  • 1 tbsp greek yogurt

  • 1 tsp blue spirulina

  • 1 cup almond milk

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1 scoop of vanilla protein powder (I like the brand Truvani)

  • 1 tsp lions mane powder for brain power (optional)



DIRECTIONS

  1. Throw all ingredients into your chosen blender

  2. Blend on high until smooth and creamy. If too thick, add more liquid.

  3. To decorate glass, add a tiny amount of blue spirulina to the tip of a small spoon and tap around the sides of cup.

  4. Pour in smoothie and enjoy!
